Colocation and interconnection specialist Cologix has completed an expansion of its colocation space in 151 Front Street, the leading Internet hub in downtown Toronto. The new phase of 3,000 square feet of data center space brings Cologix's footprint to 30,000 square feet in 151 Front Street. The company is building an additional 20,000 square feet of space at 905 King Street West in Toronto.
Cologix now operates network neutral data centers in Dallas, Minneapolis, Montreal, Toronto and Vancouver. In May it acquired the Minnesota Gateway, adding a facility and 550 customers in Minneapolis.
The new capacity in Toronto is comprised of two suites for customers looking for either a dedicated suite or a shared colocation environment in downtown Toronto. Cologix said 151 Front Street, Canada’s largest and most important interconnection point, is nearing capacity.
"As wholesale space and retail colocation options are narrowing at 151 Front Street, we are excited about the opportunity to offer these unique suites to the Toronto market,” said Sean Maskell, President Cologix Canada. “While we work to complete our new downtown facility at 905 King Street, we recognize that 151 Front Street remains a crucial location for networks that need to be a part of that interconnection community."
