Digital Realty continues to acquire fully-leased data centers for its portfolio. This week the real estate investment trust (REIT) said it has bought 11900 East Cornell Road, a 286,000 square foot data center and office complex located in Aurora, Colorado. The property consists of three interconnected buildings and about 170,000 square feet of data center space, and is 94 percent leased to two customers.
"This acquisition adds a high quality, income producing asset to our portfolio," said Scott Peterson, Chief Acquisitions Officer of Digital Realty. "The property is located near our 8534 Concord Center Drive facility, expanding our presence in the Denver market and contributing to our revenue stream with long term, stabilized leases."
Digital Realty now owns 109 properties spanning 21 million square feet in 32 markets throughout Europe, North America, Asia and Australia.
The company also sold $300 million in unsecured debt, consisting of notes that pay 3.625 percent and come due in 2022. Digital Realty said will use the proceeds of the offering to temporarily repay borrowings under its global revolving credit facility, to acquire additional properties, to fund development and redevelopment opportunities.
