CyrusOne Completes Houston Expansion
Colocation provider CyrusOne said today that it has completed the expansion of its Houston Data Center. The new building, which is adjacent to the existing Houston center, adds 30,000 square feet and seven megawatts of power.

Colocation provider CyrusOne said today that it has completed the expansion of its Houston Data Center. The new building, which is adjacent to the existing Houston center, adds 30,000 square feet and seven megawatts of power.
"The demand for high-availability colocation space continues to surge within many of the service enterprises surrounding our Houston facility," says Gary Wojtaszek, president, CyrusOne. "This expansion will help us better serve Fortune 1000 companies with the economic, environmental and modularity benefits that historically were only available to 'webscale' companies."
Designed with customers in the oil and gas industries in mind, the LEED Silver certified Houston facility provides customers with extended flexibility, reliability and always-on connectivity.
CyrusOne, a wholly owned subsidiary of Cincinnati Bell (CBB) has been in expansion mode in recent months. The company is currently working on expansion proects in Houston, Austin, Dallas, Cincinnati and Phoenix. It has also opened facilities in London and Singapore. Cincinnati Bell recently said it is evaluating a spinoff or IPO for CyrusOne, which could allow Cincinnati Bell to benefit from investor interest in the data center and cloud computing sector, while shifting significant capital expenses off the telecom company’s balance sheet.
