High-density colocation provider CyrusOne has commissioned an additional 65,000 square feet of data center space in its North Dallas facility, the company said today. The Dallas project was the third expansion in Texas in the last 90 days for CyrusOne, a subsidiary of Cincinnati Bell (CBB). The company previously announced plans to build a large data center in Austin and expand its campus in Houston.
"With the expansion of our North Dallas facility, CyrusOne stands ready to help enterprise customers better manage their data center requirements with highly cost-efficient and flexible solutions," said Gary Wojtaszek, president of CyrusOne. "Increasing demand from Fortune 1000 companies for colocation space in the Dallas area is being driven by business expansion and a growing desire to have a centralized location for applications and data center. CyrusOne is uniquely qualified to meet this demand."
CyrusOne's North Dallas facility, which is located in the Convergence Technology Campus, currently offers 192,000 square feet of prime redundant power architecture with high-density capability and abundant connectivity. CyrusOne has entered into an agreement with Texas-New Mexico Power to add 14 megawatts (MW) of power capacity at the North Dallas facility by 2012. This will result in total available power capacity of 22 MW with future expansion available up to 62 MW if needed.
