IT infrastructure provider CyrusOne said today that it is expanding its flagship Houston data center by 60,000 square feet. The expansion on contiguous property will nearly double the size of the existing facility. The new campus will offer approximately 125,000 square feet of hosted data storage, and is engineered to accommodate dense computing systems at over 250 watts per square foot. The expansion space is expected to be ready for customer installations by the summer of 2007.

"The increased demand for high availability and dense computing enterprise data centers has never been stronger," said Dave Ferdman, President and CEO, CyrusOne. "Many companies, as well as some of our customers, are moving toward dense computing due to the data processing capabilities. This expanded data center is a major step in our commitment to providing customers with scalable, cost-effective, forward-looking solutions."

The opening of the technology campus comes on the tail of a banner year in growth. CyrusOne posted 60 percent growth in 2006 revenue from year to date versus 2005 with dramatic increase in EBITDA. This increase was spurred by a boost in new customers, according to the company.

CyrusOne provides managed hosting, colocation and managed IT services. A significant portion of its customers are companies in the energy sector in the Houston area.
