Here’s our review of some of this week’s noteworthy links for the data center industry:

IO Expands to Europe.  IO announced that the company has expanded operations to Europe to meet the growing global customer demand that IO is experiencing for its IO.Anywhere and IO.OS products. To lead the expansion IO has named Microsoft and Dell veteran Ricky Cooper as Vice President of Sales, Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA). IO also offers Powered by IO, a worldwide network of data center sites and service providers that are certified by IO to host IO's technology and provide DCaaS in exclusive markets. IO is expanding the Powered by IO network in EMEA. "IO technology can transform business for any user of information technology, anywhere in the world," said Jim Kleeman, Executive Vice President – Global Sales and Marketing for IO. "We are very excited to have Ricky Cooper lead IO's entry into the UK and EMEA markets. He is a proven leader and technologist that will build a world-class team in the UK, serving our customers throughout EMEA."

Savvis selected by XM Asia Pacific.  Savvis,  a CenturyLink company (CTL), announced that XM Asia Pacific, a leading provider of digital marketing and technology consulting services, will host its clients' digital engagement platform on Savvis' enterprise-class cloud infrastructure. XM Asia Pacific will be hosted on the Savvis Symphony Open public cloud in Savvis' Singapore data center. The company selected Savvis, citing factors such as the absence of long-term contracts, reduced deployment time, generous capacity management policies, and robust service-level agreements.  "Digital businesses today are measured by their customers' online experiences. A slow page load may result in a missed opportunity to collect critical feedback, or worse, send that customer to a competitor," said Mark Smith, managing director of Asia for Savvis. "Companies like XM Asia Pacific are becoming more forward-looking and deploying Savvis' cloud and IT infrastructure solutions, helping to meet their evolving digital needs in Asia and beyond. We are excited to work with XM Asia Pacific and support its long-term business growth."

CyrusOne selected by Zimcom. CyrusOne announced that Zimcom, a web hosting and cloud services company, has selected CyrusOne’s Cincinnati data center to support the leading-edge internet solutions Zimcom provides for its small and medium-sized business customers. As an established customer of CyrusOne parent company Cincinnati Bell Zimcom selected Cyrus one for its 100 percent power uptime guarantee and highly secure facility. “The cloud requires redundancy in data center power infrastructure, connectivity and capacity on demand. We design dedicated data halls that meet that need for our cloud provider customers—and their customers as well,” said Josh Snowhorn, vice president and general manager of Interconnection, CyrusOne.
