Data Center Links: ViaWest, Interxion, QTS
Customer wins: Interxion selected by ChinaCache, MacromatiX expands with QTS, ViaWest selected by University of Texas at Dallas.

Here’s our review of some of this week’s noteworthy links for the data center industry:
ViaWest selected by University of Texas at Dallas. ViaWest announced that it been selected by The University of Texas at Dallas (UT Dallas), to provide colocation services. UT Dallas was seeking a flexible solution to accommodate growth and scale with a rising student population, and selected ViaWest colocation solutions for its easy integration with other services such as managed services. “With the level of research conducted on campus, UT Dallas needs a solution to allow for growth to support the rising data storage demands,” states Calvin Jamison, Vice President for Administration. “This partnership agreement helps us plan for the future. In addition, the team at ViaWest shares in the culture of UT Dallas, to produce the highest quality work, within a family atmosphere.” ViaWest also recently posted a virtual data center tour of their Lone Mountain data center in the Las Vegas area.
Interxion selected by ChinaCache. Interxion (INXN) announced that ChinaCache International Holdings has selected the Content Hub in Interxion’s Frankfurt data centre to colocate its content delivery network (CDN). With this addition ChinaCache’s presence extends its international reach, and provides other Interxion customers with direct access to Chinese content. “As a China-focused CDN provider with a global presence, we recognized how important an enhanced European footprint was for our business,” said Wang Song, CEO, ChinaCache. “Given the size of its economy and the extent of its international data traffic, Germany was a logical first step for our European growth plans, and we were very impressed with Interxion’s Frankfurt data centre. The centre provides us with unbeatable connectivity and the ability to partner with other content providers, and is therefore the perfect choice for us to house our services. We are pleased to work with Interxion as we continue to expand, and we look forward to continued collaboration.”
MacromatiX expands with QTS. QTS announced that its customer MacromatiX, a leading global provider of cloud-based services for retailers and restaurants, will extend and expand its existing data center service with QTS. QTS will continue to host the cloud-based MacromatiX Retail Operating System, a specialized retail application for the franchise and multi-site sectors. MacromatiX solutions support the operations of global retailers and hospitality providers including four of the world's 10 largest restaurant chains and several iconic worldwide clothing chains. "Around the clock uptime in a hardened, redundant environment is critical for the performance of our cloud-based solution, and QTS has done a wonderful job serving the needs of MacromatiX and our customers," said Alaa Pasha, president and CEO – MacromatiX. "QTS provides a portfolio of major data centers with the scalability to handle our company's rapid growth.
