IBM Leases More Space in Paris

IBM has leased a second data center from Digital Realty Trust (DLR) in suburban Paris, the companies said today. The deal will allow IBM to expand its data center capacity in the Paris market, where Big Blue is seeing strong customer demand. The lease expands on a prior agreement from October 2008.

"This new agreement with IBM in France consolidates our relationship and we are proud to be collaborating with them once again on an important datacentre project," said Bernard Geoghegan, Senior Vice President of International Operations of Digital Realty Trust. "Our Turn-Key Datacentre space enables customers to reduce the upfront capital costs for these critical projects while accelerating their ability to deploy new systems. These are very compelling reasons for companies to select Digital Realty Trust as their datacentre partner."

IBM is one of the world’s leading data center builders, managing more than 8 million square feet of raised floor space. The company builds data centers for its clients, but leasing from Digital Realty allows for rapid deployment of new space in Paris.
