Several vendor announcements were released, supporting VMware solutions, as the 2012 VMWorld conference continues this week in San Francisco.

Intel collaborates with VMware on cloud security.  Intel (INTC) announced a new collaboration with Vmware (VMW) and will deliver a platform for trusted cloud that combines Intel Trusted Execution Technology (Intel TXT) with the new release of VMware's vSphere 5.1. With hardware-enhanced security capabilities integrated into the processor, Intel TXT combined with VMware vSphere 5.1 will provide a hardened and high-integrity platform to run business-critical applications in private and public cloud environments.  "Intel TXT provides hardware enforcement to help overcome some of the most challenging aspects of cloud security, including detection and prevention of bios attacks and evolving forms of stealthy malware, such as rootkits," said Jason Waxman, general manager, Intel Cloud Infrastructure Group. "VMware vSphere 5.1 support of TXT is essential to building a foundation of trust in virtualized infrastructures and the cloud and is ready for deployment."

NaviSite expands with VMware and AppCenter 2.0.  Hosting providerNaviSite announced the release of NaviCloud AppCenter 2.0, a cloud management portal that now includes VMware vCloud Director 5.1, and enhances the ability of customers to fine tune their cloud environments. With the new version NaviSite is introducing more self-service options and providing new analytics functionality for better troubleshooting and capacity planning. “We are continuing to execute on our strategy to give IT organizations more flexibility and control by providing additional self-service, configuration and visibility capabilities in AppCenter 2.0,” said David Grimes, CTO at NaviSite. “As we continue to enhance NaviCloud, our leading service delivery platform, and AppCenter, a robust cloud management portal, we believe the new services and functionality that VMware vCloud Director 5.1 will enable us to deliver are key for our enterprise customers.”

Radware and VMware partner for virtual ADC.  Radware (RDWR) announced it has integrated Radware's Alteon VA with VMware vFabric Application Director, a hybrid cloud provisioning solution.  The joint solution is featured in the beta release of VMware Cloud Applications Management Marketplace and is validated to run on private, public and hybrid VMware vCloud environments. Application architects can use a drag and drop canvas to construct an application blueprint for deployment that can be used on almost any type of cloud. Radware also partnered with cloud provider Bluelock to service its customers as a virtual ADC switch for customers using vFabric Application Director. "Working with leading-edge cloud infrastructure and management companies like VMware, and leading cloud hosting partners like Bluelock, is proof that Radware understands what enterprises, carriers and other businesses need in cloud-enabled ADC and virtualization solutions," said Gilad Zlotkin, Vice President, Virtualization and Management Products, Radware. "Moreover, being certified for VMware vCloud, vCloud Director, and now integrated with vFabric Application Director, Radware is uniquely positioned to deliver the widest range of ADC and virtualization solutions to support those cloud and hosting providers especially those committed to VMware's data center technology."
