Downtime for Hotmail

Microsoft's Hotmail service has been unavailable today. Microsoft has acknowledged the problems, and says it's working to resolve the issue.

It's been a rough stretch for the biggest free webmail services. Just weeks after Google's Gmail was hit by some meaningful downtime, many users are reporting that Microsoft's Hotmail service has been unavailable today. Microsoft has acknowledged the problems, and says it's working to resolve the issue. LiveSide reports that some users are now able to access Hotmail, but availability appears to be spotty.
