Here's a roundup of some quick news items of interest for the web hosting, cloud platform and content delivery sectors:

  • Two hosting services operated by Hostway experienced significant downtime overnight. Valueweb and Affinity Hosting were each offline for more than 6 hours, according to Netcraft, which reports network uptime for hosting providers.

  • Appistry, one of a growing number of application platform software providers, has closed on a Series C financing round lead by Stuart Mill Venture Partners, but isn't saying how much it has raised. The funding will be used to expand sales, marketing and product development. Lawrence A. Hough, managing director of Stuart Mill, joins the Appistry board.

  • Contentinople has an interview with Jeff Lunsford, the CEO of Limelight Networks (LLNW), who talks about his company's business and the ongoing patent infringement case with Akamai (AKAM).
