Several network outages affected large numbers of users Sunday:
AT&T mobile phone service in the Midwest was hobbled by a power outage Sunday morning at a facility in Bloomfield, Michigan, according to reports at the Chicago Sun-Times and Ars Technica.
The Level 3 network also experienced problems yesterday, as noted at TechCrunch and SANS. Some reports connect the Level 3 problems with the AT&T outage in the Midwest, while others suggest a problem with a high-speed fiber line in northern Virginia.
