Peter Gabriel's Server Stolen From Data Center
The servers hosting musician Peter Gabriel's web site were stolen from their hosting facility Monday.

When musician Peter Gabriel's official web site went offline Monday morning, it turned out to be more than a misconfiguration or hardware failure. The servers were gone completely. Here's the message at PeterGabriel.com:
The majority of Real World, Peter Gabriel and WOMAD web services are currently off-line. Our servers were stolen from our ISP's data centre on Sunday night - Monday morning. We are working to restore normal service as soon as possible.
Gabriel's website is hosted by Rednet Ltd, a bankrupt subsidiary of Opal Telecom (which in turn is owned by CarPhone Warehouse). This is the latest in a series of equipment thefts in the past year, including armed robberies at CI Host in Chicago and a Verizon facility in London. See The Register and Softpedia for more.
