Google Uptime: Country by Country
Pingdom has been tracking uptime across Google's worldwide network of search sites.
October 1, 2007
The folks at Pingdom have been tracking the responsiveness of Google's worldwide network of search sites over the past year. The results: Pingdom found the U.S. Google search site ended up 26th out of the 32 sites monitored, with ten times more downtime than the Brazilian Google Search. The main google.com sites had 31 minutes of downtime over a one-year period, compared to just 3 minutes for google.com.br.
None of the monitored websites passed below 99.99% uptime, according to Pingdom. "It is interesting that several countries not traditionally associated with a good internet infrastructure ended up in top positions with very little downtime," Pingdom noted. "Notable examples are Brazil, India, Thailand and Mexico."
