Managed hosting provider Cervalis has signed a 168,000 square foot lease for a data center and disaster recovery facility in Norwalk, Conn., according to local media. The build-to-suit project will give Cervalis' operations more than 470,000 square feet of data center and DR space in New York, New Jersey and Connecticut.
The company opened a new data center in New Jersey in 2010, and subsequently received funding from Goldman Sachs to expand its infrastructure. The two-story facility will feature data halls for servers on the first floor, and office and client desk space for business continuity on the second floor. The project is expected to have an on-site staff of about 25 workers.

The firm has built a reputation for providing security services and supporting customers with significant regulatory compliance requirements. The company has completed annual SSAE 16 audits and achieved Cybertrust Service Provider and PCI DSS Certifications. Cervalis has additional data center facilities in Dutchess County, N.Y., and Fairfield County in Connecticut.
