Here’s our review of some of this week’s noteworthy links for the data center industry:

Peak 10 adds 41,000 square feet to Nashville campus.  Peak 10 announced the opening of its third enterprise-class facility contiguous with current operations in Nashville, Tennessee. The 41,000 square foot addition brings the campus footprint to 71,500 square feet. Peak 10 has added 26,000 square feet of customer workspace to the Nashville campus as part of its Workspace Recovery service. "Over the last 12 months, we completed new data center facility expansions in Louisville, Ky. and Richmond, Va. to meet our new and existing customer growth," said David Jones, the president and CEO of Peak 10. "This year, we will continue to invest significant capital into our existing markets adding more premium data center space, bringing greater scale to our cloud platforms and solutions and in systems and processes to further enhance the way we provision our services and support for customers.  These initiatives bring more efficiency to our operations as well as continue to optimize the return on capital investment at Peak 10." Peak 10 also announced that it is providing Real Estate IS LLC with cloud, failover and data center services.

Phoenix NAP selected by NIC Inc.   Phoenix NAP announced today that NIC Inc., leading IT support services provider for small to medium sized businesses , has selected the data center for its IT needs. NIC listed location, redundant systems, 247x NOC services, security certifications and cost effective pricing structure as reasons for selecting Phoenix NAP. "We are thrilled at the addition of NIC Inc. to our facility," said Ian McClarty, president of Phoenix NAP. "Its focus on providing quality service through quick response time, outstanding customer service and keen attention to detail is in line with Phoenix NAP's. Additionally, with the company's desire to find a location away from disastrous areas, our facility was a perfect match. We are pleased to welcome NIC Inc. and look forward to growing a strong relationship with them."

Emerson's ASCO to integrate Avtron acquisition. Emerson Network Power (EMR) announced that recently acquired Avtron Loadbank will integrate into its ASCO Power Technologies business. Avtron is recognized world wide for its design and manufacture of high-quality resistive and reactive load banks, neutral grounding resistors and industrial power resistors. “Avtron Loadbank will complement Emerson’s ASCO sales, support and service in business-critical markets such as hospitals, data centers and water treatment facilities,” said Armand Visioli, president of Emerson Network Power’s ASCO Power Technologies business. “Consulting engineers, contractors and other channel partners now can benefit from a full range of equipment designed to protect facilities from operational discontinuity in the event of an electrical supply interruption.” In terms of technology, ASCO controls design expertise will facilitate integration of Avtron controls into Critical Power Management Systems for a range of standby power applications.
