PacketExchange unveils cloud networking solution, OpSource to deliver cloud hosting to Platform Equinix ecosystem, KDDI announces Carier Ethernet tie-ups with CENX, Telx and Equinix.

It's been a busy week for news from the cloud computing and networking sector. Here's a look at some announcements from Tuesday:
PacketExchange Unveils Cloud Networking Solution - Ethernet and IP network service provider PacketExchange today unveiled its cloud computing networking solution, which it calls Network Infrastructure-as-a-Service (NIaaS). PacketExchange's NIaaS provides enterprise organizations a way to reliably and securely access cloud-hosted applications. PacketExchange says it can dynamically route data traffic across its converged global private and public IP network infrastructure to provide an optimized solution ideal for cloud-based applications. As well as the enterprise, the solution offers Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) companies and content providers a secure and reliable way to access, distribute and share information within a cloud-networking environment. OpSource Joins Platform Equinix to expand service footprint - Managed hosting provider OpSource, Inc. today announced an agreement to deliver enterprise-class cloud and managed hosting solutions to the Equinix ecosystem of more than 3,700 customers across North America, Europe and Asia Pacific. Through a combination of co-marketing, joint solution development and training, OpSource will provide cloud and managed hosting solutions to Equinix’s ecosystem; in turn, Equinix will enable OpSource to deliver on rising end-user performance expectations by deploying its assets and services closer to customers with targeted geographical distribution to improve network performance and application response time. KDDI America Partners With CENX, Telx and Equinix - KDDI America, Inc. announced that it is now connected with CENX, Telx and Equinix, leading operators of Carrier Ethernet Exchange around the world, to provide its expanded Global Ethernet Networks for enterprise and wholesale customers. The initial connections are at Carrier Ethernet Exchanges in New York, Chicago, Virginia and Los Angeles, creating seamless connections with KDDI America’s extensive high-speed fiber network. The new connections dovetail with KDDI America’s deployment of Layer 2 Ethernet Switches in key data centers and bring access to CENX, Telx and Equinix Ethernet Service Locations for KDDI America’s wide variety of domestic and International business customers.
