The continued emergence of new technologies and capabilities like IIoT, IoT, Augmented and Virtual Reality (AR/VR) is providing companies with an abundance of opportunities. The common thread that defines this evolution is the increased degree of “time sensitivity” (latency) associated with the transmission and processing of information to perform the necessary operations. The combination of these elements has given birth to the need for edge data centers. His architecture work includes large virtualization and cloud deployments as well as business network design and implementation. As Chief Technology Officer at MTM Technologies, he interacts with enterprise organizations and helps align IT strategies with direct business goals. He also publishes freelance whitepapers, articles, podcasts, and blogs around data center, cloud, security, and infrastructure management topics.

Sharif Fotouh, an ex-Googler, and founder of EdgePoint Systems, now Compass EdgePoint, is a recognized voice across both information technology and data center industries. Sharif has more than 10 years of experience leading large data center and technology teams, and has leveraged that experience to launch Compass EdgePoint. At Google, founded and led the company’s fiber national network facilities and deployment engineering program.

In previous roles, Sharif has led both data center operations teams as well as global IT implementation projects.
