The continued emergence of new technologies and capabilities like IIoT, IoT, Augmented and Virtual Reality (AR/VR) is providing companies with an abundance of opportunities. The common thread that defines this evolution is the increased degree of “time sensitivity” (latency) associated with the transmission and processing of information to perform the necessary operations. The combination of these elements has given birth to the need for edge data centers. However, as is often the case, a solution carries its own questions that must be addressed before it’s implemented and edge data centers are no different. Seemingly trivial matters like, “Where am I going to put these things?” must be answered for example. Every data center project is a complex undertaking, but in the case of edge implementations all of those same considerations, and more, must be addressed for multiple sites in multiple geographic areas within narrow windows of time, often simultaneously. Just as any data center project requires a clear planning process, so do their edge counterparts…only for multiple implementations.

In this webinar, Compass Datacenters will explain all of the elements surrounding the successful implementation of edge locations including the business and technical considerations that need to be addressed, the questions you need to ask yourself and how to evaluate potential edge partners.

Specifically, we’ll cover:

1)     The current state of the edge

2)     The four (4) basic business questions that need to be answered

3)     How to turn business specifications into technical requirements

4)     The key questions you need to ask yourself…and potential partners
