Digital, not Savvis, Owns Microsoft Centers
Clarification: Digital Realty Trust owns the two Santa Clara data centers mentioned in our earlier item on Savvis and Microsoft.

Digital Realty Trust issued a press release today to clarify the transaction announced Friday between Savvis Communications and Microsoft. On Friday Savvis issued a press release saying it had "sold assets" in two adjacent data centers in Santa Clara to Microsoft for $200 million. Our story earlier today stated that Microsoft had bought the data centers. In fact, both buildings continue to be owned by Digital Realty Trust, which explained this afternoon that Microsoft had assumed the leases from Savvis.
Digital had been leasing the buildings to Savvis, which in turn had a colocation contract with Microsoft. "We are very pleased to welcome Microsoft as a direct tenant at these two Santa Clara facilities and look forward to continuing to build our relationship with them," commented Michael Foust, Chief Executive Officer of Digital Realty Trust.
